Play your first spot

Follow the step-by-step instructions below to play a spot on a player.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, please note the following requirements:

• You must have access to locations, screen layouts, program schemes, and playlists.

• Your player must have a valid Grassfish license.

Step-by-step

Perform the following steps to play a spot:

• Create a location

• Create a player

• Create a screen layout

• Assign the screen layout to the player

• Create a program scheme

• Assign the program scheme to the screen layout

• Create a playlist

• Assign the playlist to the program scheme

• Upload a spot

• Assign the spot to the playlist

Create a location

To create a location for your player, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Location.

2. In the Location pane, click + to create a new location.
   

3. In the Create location window, enter a name for your location.

4. Specify all other settings as needed.
   

5. Click Save to save your changes.

Create a player

To create a player that will play your spot, perform the following steps:

1. In the Location pane, select your newly created location.

2. At the bottom of the Managing players pane, click New to create a player.
   

3. In the Create player window, enter a name for the player.        

4. In the Box-ID, enter the Box-ID. This ID is required for initializing the player.

5. In the License type field, select a license.      

6. Under Configuration, select a configuration group for the player.
   

7. Click Save to save your changes.

Create a screen layout

To create a screen layout, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Screen layout.

2. In the Screen layouts pane, click + to create a new screen layout.
   

3. In the Create screen layout window, enter a name for the screen layout.

4. As resolution, either select a Predefined resolution or enter Width and Height in pixels.
   

5. Click Save to save your changes.

Assign the screen layout to the player

To assign the screen layout to your player, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Location.

2. In the Location pane, select your newly created location.

3. In the Managing players pane, double-click on your previously created player.

4. In the Edit player window, select the previously created screen layout as Screen layout 1.

5. Click Save to save your changes.

Create a program scheme

To create a program scheme, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Program scheme.

2. In the Program scheme pane, click + to create a new program scheme.
   

3. In the Create program scheme window, enter a name for the program scheme.

4. Specify all other settings as needed.
   

5. Click Save to save your changes.

Assign the program scheme to the screen layout

To assign the program scheme to your screen layout, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Screen layout.

2. In the Screen layouts pane, select your screen layout.

3. In the Screen layout view pane, double-click on an area or select it and click Edit assignment.
   

4. In the Assign program scheme window, select your program scheme.

5. Click Save.

6. If you have split screen layouts, assign one program scheme to each area.

7. Click Save to save your changes.

Create a playlist

To create a playlist, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Program scheme.

2. In the Available playlists pane, click New.

3. In the Create playlist window, enter a name for your playlist.

4. Specify all other settings as needed.

5. Click Save to save your changes.

Assign the playlist to the program scheme

To assign the playlist to the program scheme, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Channels > Program scheme.

2. In the Program scheme pane, select the previously created program scheme.

3. Drag and drop the playlist from the Available playlists pane to the Standard playlists pane.

Upload a spot

To upload your spot to IXM One, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Content > Playlist.

2. In the Spot groups pane, select the spot group that you want to add the spot to.
   

3. In the Selectable spots pane, click New.

4. In the Create spot window, click Upload spots.
   

5. In the Upload manager, click Add data.

6. Select the spot file you want to upload and click Open.

7. Click   to upload the spot.

8. After the upload, click Close to close the upload manager.

Assign the spot to the playlist

To assign your spot to the playlist, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Content > Playlist.

2. In the General playlists pane, select the playlist to which you want to assign the spot.

3. Drag and drop the previously uploaded spot from the Selectable spots pane to the Content of playlist pane.

You can now play the spot on your player.
