Create spots

Some spot creation options are not available by default. For more information, contact your Grassfish partner.

There are different options for creating spots in IXM One.

You can create a new spot, create a spot from an available template, or upload a spot that you've created in an external application.

Create a spot

To create a spot in IXM One, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Content > Playlist.

2. In the Selectable spots pane, click New.

3. In the Select spot group window, select the spot group in which the new spot should be saved.

4. In the Create spot window, select one of the following options:

   • Upload spots

   • New spot from template

   • New HTML Composer spot

   • Import of HTML Composer and Wizard spots  

   • New Website spot

Upload spots

To use a file as a spot in IXM One, you must upload it. There are two ways to do so:

• Drag and drop a file

• Use the upload manager for larger uploads

Prerequisites

Before you upload spots, note the following information:

• If you select a screen playlist when uploading spots, the spots are automatically assigned to the playlist's assigned player.

• If you select a general playlist, the spots are assigned to the first player in your list of players.

Drag and drop a file

To upload a file that you want to use as a spot, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Content > Playlist.

2. In the Playlist pane, select the playlist to which your spot is added.

3. In the Spot group pane, select the spot group to which your spot is added.

4. Drag and drop a file from your file management into the Selectable spots pane.

The upload manager runs in the background. After the upload, you can see the newly uploaded spot in the Selectable spots pane.

Use the upload manager

To upload spot files with the upload manager, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Content > Playlist.

2. In the Playlist pane, select the playlist to which your spot is added.

3. In the Spot group pane, select the spot group to which your spot is added.

4. In the Selectable spots pane, click New.

5. In the Create new spot window, select Upload spots.

6. In the Upload manager, click on Add data to select your files. Alternatively, drag and drop files from your file manager into the upload manager.

7. Click Start to start the upload.

The upload starts automatically if this is set in the upload manager configuration.
