This article describes how to update the firmware on an RKM-MK39 device.

System requirements

Ensure that you meet the following system requirements:

• RKDevTool_Release_v2.96_zh

• Rockchip_DriverAssitant_v5.1.1

• USB-C cable

Update the firmware

To update the firmware, perform the following steps:

1. Connect the device via USB-C to a Windows PC with the Rockchip ADB drivers installed.

2. To open RKDevTool, double-click on it.

3. In RKDevTool, check if the ADB connection has been established.
   

4. On the PC, open a CMD terminal.

5. Enter : adb reboot loader
   

6. Check if RKDevTool found the One LOADER device.
   

7. In RKDevTool, click Upgrade Firmware > Firmware.
   

8. In the subsequent dialog, select the firmware image and click Open.
   

9. In RKDevTool, click Upgrade.

10. Check the upgrade progress to ensure that no errors occur and wait until the system confirms that the download was successful.

    

Configure device settings

After updating the firmware, you must configure the Android device settings.

1. On the Android desktop, open the app drawer.

   

2. Ensure that the following apps are installed:

   • GF Device Owner

   • GF Player

   • TeamViewer Host

Note

It may take up to a minute after the initial launch for all apps to be displayed.

Disable updates

To disable Google Play Store updates on the device, perform the following steps:

1. Open the Google Play Store app.

2. Open Settings.

   

3. Open Network preferences.

4. Click Auto-update apps.

5. Set it to Don’t auto-update apps.
   

6. Go back to the app drawer.

Configure TeamViewer Host

To configure the TeamViewer Host app, perform the following steps:

1. Connect your device to the internet.

2. Open the Host app.
   

3. To give the requested permission, click ALLOW.

4. If a new update is available, click UPDATE to download it and INSTALL.

5. Reopen the Host app.

6. In the Add-On available dialog, click INSTALL to download it.

   

7. After the download, click INSTALL.

8. After installation, click DONE.

9. Go back to the app drawer.

Set device owner permissions

To set the required device owner permissions on your device, perform the following steps:

1. Open the GF Device Owner app.

   

2. In the subsequent permission dialog, click ALLOW.

The device automatically reboots and starts on the player permission page.

Set player permissions

To set the required player permissions on your device, perform the following steps:

1. Next to to Grant do not disturb access, click OPEN.
   

2. Activate GF Player and click ALLOW in the subsequent dialog.
   

3. Click the arrow in the top left corner or right-click to go back to the permissions page.

4. Next to Grant system settings write access, click OPEN.

5. Activate Allow modifying system settings.

6. Click the arrow in the top left corner or right-click to go back to the permissions page.
