Use configuration groups to apply settings such as logging, timeouts, or automatic updates to multiple players simultaneously.

Edition keys and default configuration groups
When you work with configuration groups, it's important to understand how edition keys work.
These keys help differentiate between different player types.
An edition key is assigned to each player and specifies which player type it is.
When the player first logs onto the server, this edition key is transferred.
You can specify a default configuration group such as Windows or Android for each edition key.
When you create a new player in IXM One, there are two possible scenarios for the handling of edition keys and default configuration groups.
Scenario 1: You have not assigned a player configuration to the player during creation or before initialization
In this scenario, the following outcomes are possible:
There is a default player configuration group for the transmitted edition key that is assigned.
There is no default player configuration group for the transmitted edition key, so no group is assigned.
Scenario 2: You have assigned a player configuration to the player during creation or before initialization
In this scenario, the following outcomes are possible:
The submitted edition key matches the assigned player configuration group edition key. There's no change.
The submitted edition key doesn't match the assigned player configuration group edition key:
The assigned player configuration is removed in IXM One.
There is a default player configuration group for the transmitted edition key that is assigned.
There is no default player configuration group for the transmitted edition key, so no group is assigned
