With this spot, you can display dynamic news via the UDC interface or static news. You can configure the spot’s playback behavior, layout, formatting, and animations.
In sync mode, the spot can also be a sender that provides news items to one or more News Receiver spots. You can use this functionality between widgets within an HTML Composer spot, across splits on a player, or across players.

System requirements
This widget requires IXM Platform version 11.1 or later.
Configure the spot
In the HTML Wizard, you can see all configurable spot elements in the tree structure of the spot. Changes are immediately visible in the spot preview.
You can also include HTML Wizard spots as widgets in the HTML Composer, or configure them in the Composer to use them independently.
Configure the following elements of the spot as desired:

Spot | |
Resolution | Specify the width and height of the spot in pixels. |
Spot duration | Set the spot duration to 0. The playback duration is determined via Number of news and Display duration. The spot will stop on its own after displaying the news. |
Background | Select to set a background color. Click in the color selection box to select a color. |
Data source | Enter the name of your data source. To establish the connection, it must be identical to the description in the UDC data source. |
Sync mode | |
Active | Select to enable sync mode. In sync mode, the spot send news items to one or more News Receiver spots. You can use this functionality between widgets within an HTML Composer spot, across splits on a player, or across players. |
Identifier | Specify an identifier to link a sender and one or more receivers. The identifier must be identical in all spots. |
Target IP | Specify a target IP to set up communication across players. Enter the IP addresses of the players on which the news items are displayed. Click Add new text to enter multiple IP addresses. You can add up to 100 players. |
Quit receiver | Select to stop receiver spots at the end of the sender spot. |
Static content | |
Image | Click Add medium and select an image to display if there’s no UDC data. |
Headline | Enter a headline for the static message that appears if there’s no UDC data. |
Message text | Enter text for the static message that appears if there’s no UDC data. |
Copyright text | Enter copyright text that appears if there’s no UDC data. |
Playback settings | |
Behavior – no data | Select what happens in case of an error:

Number of news | Specify how many news entries from the UDC interface are displayed before the spot stops. |
Randomize | Select to show the news in random order. |
Time settings | |
Animation duration | Specify the duration of the start, end, and transition animation. If you enter 0, no animation is displayed. |
Animation delay | Specify how long to delay animations in seconds. |
Display duration | Specify how long each news item is displayed, excluding animations and idle times. |
Pause between news | Specify how much time passes between the news items. Note that this value is ignored if you use Crossfade transition. |

Transition | Select a style for the transitions between news items:

No outro delay | Select to ignore Animation delay when the spot stops and simultaneously fade out all elements. |
Appearance > Background | |
Background color enabled | Select to set a background color for the spot. |
Background color | Select a background color for the spot. |
Background image enabled | Select to enable background image. If you have a background image, the background color is not displayed. |
Background image | Click Add medium and select a background image. |

Merge text | Select to display the headline and news text in succession flowing around the image. Note that vertical text alignment is ignored if you enable this option. |
Layout padding | Specify padding between the element (image, news text, headline) and the edge of the layout. |
