Ticker widget

This widget displays an RSS-based news ticker. You can customize the widget by configuring text styles, background, and more.

System requirements

This widget requires IXM Platform version 11.0 or later.

Configure the spot

In the HTML Wizard, you can see all configurable spot elements in the tree structure of the spot. Changes are immediately visible in the spot preview. 

You can also include HTML Wizard spots as widgets in the HTML Composer, or configure them in the Composer to use them independently.

Configure the following elements of the spot as desired:

Resolution

Specify the width and height of the spot in pixels.

Spot duration

Specify the duration of the spot in the format: hh:mm:ss

The spot is reloaded at the end of the duration.

If you enter 00:00:00, the spot plays continuously.

Background

Select to set a background color.

Click in the color selection box to select a color.

Ticker text

Specify text that appears in addition to the RSS feed. 

You can add up to 20 texts.

Maximum count of news items (less = better performance)

Specify the maximum number of news articles.

Maximum length of a single news text (less = better performance)

Specify the maximum length of a single news text.

Text formatting

Style the ticker text using font, color, size, and other options.

Margin top

Specify the margin between text and top.

Entry separator

Specify a separator that separates the ticker entries.

Speed

Specify the speed at which the ticker runs.

Backup only text

Select to only use text as backup.

RSS properties

UDC data keys

If you use the UDC RSS news importer, add the UDC data keys.

For more information on the UDC importer, contact your Grassfish partner.

RSS feed URLs (CORS must be enabled)

If you use a CORS proxy to receive RSS data, enter the path to the proxy.

The URL must be whitelisted on the proxy and have the following structure:

http(s)://[PATH TO SERVER]/gv2/webservices/CorsProxy/api/proxy

Proxy service path (for RSS URLs)

Enter the proxy service path for RSS URLs.

RSS refresh

Specify after how many seconds the RSS feeds are refreshed.

Field separator 

Specify a separator that separates title and description of the RSS feed. 

Show RSS description

Select to display the description of the RSS feed.

Show RSS title

Select to display the title of the RSS feed.
