Before you start, ensure that you meet the following requirements:

  • You know how to create and manage program schemes, playlists, and spots in the IXM Platform.

1. Create a program scheme

To play DOOH spots, you must first create a program scheme in the IXM Platform.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Channels > Program scheme.
  2. In the Program scheme pane, click + to create a program scheme.

  1. In the Create program scheme window, enter a name for the program scheme.
  2. Select Event playlists.

  1. Specify all other settings as needed.

2. Create a DOOH playlist

Next, create the playlist for your DOOH spots. Note that you can only have one DOOH playlist.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Channels > Programm scheme.
  2. In the Available playlists pane, click New.

  1. In the Create playlist window, enter a name for your playlist.
  2. As Playlist logic, select DOOH.
  3. Specify all other settings as needed.
  4. Click Save to save your changes.

3. Create a filler playlist

Usually, the DOOH playlist will not take up the entire playlist playback time, so you need a standard playlist that plays standard spots in-between as fillers.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Channels > Program scheme.
  2. In the Available playlists pane, click New.
  3. In the Create playlist window, enter a name for your filler playlist.
  4. As Playlist logic, select Default.
  5. Specify all other settings as needed.
  6. Click Save to save your changes.

4. Assign playlists to the program scheme

You must assign the DOOH and the standard filler playlist to your program scheme.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Channels > Program scheme.
  2. Select your DOOH program scheme.
  3. Drag and drop your DOOH playlist from the Available playlists pane to the Event playlists pane.
  4. Drag and drop your standard filler playlist from the Available playlists pane to the Standard playlists pane.

5. Configure the standard filler playlist

You must configure the standard filler playlist to ensure that DOOH spots have higher priority than standard spots.

Perform the following steps:

  1. In the Standard playlists pane, double-click the filler playlist.
  2. In the Edit playlist properties window, switch to Extras.
  3. Select Prioritize programmatic advertisements.

  1. Click Save to save your changes.

6. Assign spots to your standard filler playlist

You don't have to add spots to the DOOH playlist. This happens automatically, when you add spots to booking items. However, you must fill your filler playlist with standard content.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Content > Playlist.
  2. In the General playlists pane, select your filler playlist.
  3. Drag and drop your filler spots from the Selectable spots pane to the Content of playlist pane.

7. Create a DOOH product

Content distribution

Select one of the following content distribution methods:

  • Frequency: specify the repetition rate of an ad, for example every 120 seconds. This means that the ad will be shown every two minutes on the selected screens during the specified time.
  • Live tags: add live tags that tell the player when to display content. For example, if a male aged 30 to 40 is standing in front of the screen. Live tags are activated and deactivated through (local) web services. This process is usually triggered by an attached external system that calls the player's web services.
  • Playbacks: specify the number of target playbacks. The system automatically calculates the repetition rate for each screen.
  • Share of Voice: specify how many percent of the advertisement time the ad receives. This is the simplest strategy regarding price calculation. For example, ten percent means that the ad is displayed ten percent of the time reserved for ads on specific screens.

The Content distribution method determines which pricing options you see in the Price tab.

Priority

Select a priority:

  • Low: use for ads that only run if ad slots are available, like budget ads that are sold at a lower price.
  • Medium: use for standard ads.
  • High: use for ads that run with a guaranteed frequency.

  1.  Specify all other content distribution properties as needed.
