# Transfer ownership

You can transfer ownership of a user to another user. The user will have the same [role and permissions](https://docs.grassfish.com/ixm-aqua/docs/work-with-roles) before and after ownership.

> Note
> 
> Owners can delete other users of the account. However, the owner's own account cannot be deleted to ensure access.

To transfer ownership, perform the following steps:

1. In the sidebar, click **Users & Roles**.
2. Find the user you want to transfer ownership to and click **Options**.
3. Select **Transfer ownership**.
4. In the following dialog, click **Transfer** to confirm.
