They help to specify what users are allowed to see and do. That means, IXM One user types have predefined access rights by default. However, as an admin you can edit their rights using [permission groups](/grassfish/docs/permission-groups). ## Types of users There are three types of users in IXM One: | **Admin** | Administrators have read and write access to all menus and areas, including administration. | | --- | --- | | **Standard user** | Standard users have access to the playlist and media management areas. You can expand their access to other areas and their rights for content editing via permission groups. | | **Location user** | Location users can access screen playlists and player-specific content assigned to their players. They can't edit general content. They can only see areas in IXM One that are unlocked for their permission group. | ## Access users To manage IXM One users, perform the following steps: 1. Go to **Administration > Permissions**. 2. Select **User** to see a list of all users and the following information: | **Username** | Username of the user. | | --- | --- | | **First name** | First name of the user. | | **Surname** | Last name of the user. | | **Assigned location** | Location assigned to the user. | | **Assigned player** | Player assigned to the user. | | **Type** | User type, such as administrator or location user. | | **Last login** | Date and time of the user's last login. | | **Locked / Expired** | Temporarily or permanently lock users after a certain number of failed login attempts, and/or specify how long a user is valid. --- If you need this functionality, please contact your Grassfish partner. | | **Number of API keys** | The number of API keys specified for the user. | ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e2b87f73-d9f5-43cb-8182-2641762664fd/Images/Documentation/manage-user-types-image-sqpjxif5.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T20%3A13%3A25Z&se=2026-11-06T21%3A13%3A25Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=NjkYFXTxgJfZApQQDraTksWyTgNPYMfcINXE0y%2FD2Dw%3D) > [!NOTE] > Note > > For testing and editing purposes, you can find a list of all user profiles in the [customer management](/grassfish/docs/work-with-clients-1).
