# Activate data importers

> Data importers must be activated in your system. If this hasn't happened yet, please contact your Grassfish partner for more information.

As an admin, you can enable data importers for:

- **Single client**: Give each client access to data sources when setting up players and spots.
- **Client network**: Activate sub-clients in a client network to let them access inherited data importers from the parent client.

## Enable data importers

To enable data importers for any client, perform the following steps:

1. Go to **Administration > Global > Customer management**.
2. In the **Client management** pane, select the client that you want to edit.
3. Click **Edit** at the bottom of the pane.
4. Switch to the **Data importer** tab and select the following options:
  - **Assigned**: the client can work with the data importer.
  - **Share**: the client can share the data importer with their sub-clients.
5. Click **Save** to save your changes.
