Don’t forget to restart them after the installation. ## Update the database How you update the database depends on your IXM One version: ****Version 12.0 or later**** > [!NOTE] > Note > > You may encounter issues when using the database migrator with SQL Express. In this case, we recommend updating the database manually as in versions prior to 12.0. **Prerequisites** Before you begin, make sure that the database server can access the backend server and that the master.config file is shared. If that’s not possible, you can specify the connection string manually. For example: `.\DbMigrator.exe -c "Server=(local);Database=example;Integrated Security=true;TrustServerCertificate=True;"` ```plaintext ❯ .\DbMigrator.exe --help USAGE:    DbMigrator.exe [OPTIONS] OPTIONS:    -h, --help                                     Prints help information    -c, --connection-string    The connection string to the database    -m, --master-config            The master config file    -d, --directory             The directory containing the db scripts        --sqlcmd                                   The sqlcmd executable to use        --unattended                               Run in unattended mode ``` **Update the database** Starting with version 12.0, you can use a database migrator to easily update the database. Perform the following steps: 1. Open a terminal. 2. Navigate to the **DB** folder. 3. Run `DbMigrator.exe`. 4. Specify the path to the master.config file, including **master.config** at the end. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/e2b87f73-d9f5-43cb-8182-2641762664fd/Images/Documentation/image-1754300491202.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-26T11%3A33%3A31Z&se=2026-10-26T12%3A33%3A31Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jqD7lfGR8xhZ%2BxEw5tynaoB35tTsGJ8Wcffli7ANqsc%3D) 5.
