# Preview players

You can preview your players to check how their content will look after publishing.

### Prerequisites

Consider the following prerequisites before you start a preview:

- The preview is only available, if a screen layout, program scheme, and content are assigned to a player.
- The preview opens in a new browser window.
- Loading large playlists, may take more time. Just leave the preview window open until all content has been loaded.
- Settings like time control, holiday lists, or categories are considered in the preview.
- Content quality may vary in preview to reduce response time. Players display content in its original format and native quality.
- The preview for website spots is only available if the website can be displayed in an iframe.

## Preview a player

To preview the content of a player, perform the following steps:

1. Go to **Channels > Location**.
2. Select the location of the player.
3. In the **Managing players** pane, select the player and click **Tools**.
4. Select **Preview** to open the preview in a new browser window.
5. Use the following options in the preview window as required:

| **Display** | If your player has two displays, select **Display 1** or **Display 2**. |
| --- | --- |
| **Date** | Specify a date and time for the preview. By default, it's the current IXM One time. |
