Configure Lubuntu settings

A part of the Grassfish Linux Player setup, you must configure the player’s operating system. That is, the Lubuntu settings. Perform the following actions.
Set the player’s time zone
Upon first initialization of the Grassfish Server, the system queries the player’s time. To ensure that this information is correct, you must make changes to the player’s operating system. To do so, perform the following steps:
- To open the Start menu, click on the Lubuntu symbol on the lower left side of your screen.
- To open time and date settings, go to System Tools > Time and Date.
- Click on Unlock to enable making changes.
- In the subsequent dialog, ensure that the username is grassfish and enter your administrator password.
Note that you can change the username and password later. - Click OK to confirm.
- In the Time and Date Settings window, select your player’s time zone.
- In the Configuration field, select Keep synchronized with internet servers.
- Click on Close to close the window and save your settings.
Establish an internet connection
To connect with the Grassfish IXM Platform, you need an internet connection. To do so, you must configure the settings for the player’s operating system for one of the following network types:
- Local area network (LAN)
- Wireless local area network (WiFi)
Establish a LAN connection
Usually, it’s enough to simply plug your network cable into the player to establish a LAN connection.
However, it’s possible that your network settings require further configuration. In this case, perform the following steps:
- To open the Start menu, click on the Lubuntu symbol on the lower left side of the screen.
- Select Preferences > Network Connections. This opens the Network Connections window.
- To edit the existing network connection, double-click on your network connection or click on the Settings icon.
- In the Editing window, configure the settings for your network as required.
Establish a WiFi connection
To establish a WiFi connection, perform the following steps:
- If required, plug a WiFi adapter into a free USB port on your player.
- Click on the network icon on the right side of the task bar.
- Select your network from the list.
- In the subsequent dialog, enter the WiFi password.
- Click on Connect to establish a connection with the network.
