# Assign playlists to program schemes

To play playlists, you must assign them to a program scheme.

After that, you can specify when and how it is played in the playlist properties.

To assign a playlist to a program scheme, perform the following steps:

1. Go to **Channels > Program scheme**.
2. If you use priorities, select the priority level in the **Priorities** pane.
3. Drag the playlist that you want to assign from the **Available playlists** pane to the **Standard playlists** or **Event playlists** pane.
4. If you have an event playlist, you must now [configure the event properties](/grassfish/docs/configure-event-properties).
