# Assign data sources

> Data sources are not available by default. Please contact your Grassfish partner to learn more.

You can assign data sources to a spot to include external data such as weather information or news.

To do so, perform the following steps:

1. In IXM One, go to **Content > Playlist**.
2. In the **Spot groups** pane, select the spot group where your spot is located.
3. 4. Switch to the **Data sources** tab.
5. Click on **Add data source**.
6. In the **Add data source** window, select your data source from the dropdown menu.
7. Click **Save** to add the data source.
8. Optionally, select **Apply to spot instances** to add the data source to all identical spots in all playlists.
9. Optionally, click **Add filter** to refine the data source. The available options depend on the data source and data type.
10. Click **Save** to save your changes.
